Cocktail Recipes for Tourers & Holiday Home Owners

These easy-to-make cocktails are perfect if you’ve just finished a day of exploring the local area, or are simply enjoying the sunshine from the comfort of your caravan or holiday home.
1. The Berwick Berry Bramble
Let’s kick things off with a local twist, featuring berries you’re likely to find around our Berwick upon Tweed campsites. This refreshing drink is as vibrant as the countryside itself!
Ingredients:
- 50 ml Gin
- 20 ml Lemon Juice
- 10 ml Sugar Syrup
- Crushed Ice
- Fresh Berries (blackberries and raspberries)
- A splash of Blackberry Liqueur (optional for an extra kick)
Method:
- Fill your shaker with gin, lemon juice, and sugar syrup. Shake well.
- Strain into a glass filled with crushed ice.
- Drizzle blackberry liqueur over the top for a marbling effect.
- Garnish with fresh berries.
2. Classic Campfire Mojito
Nothing says relaxation like a Mojito, and this classic recipe is perfect for unwinding!
Ingredients:
- 10 fresh mint leaves, plus a sprig for garnish
- 1 lime (cut into wedges)
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- Ice cubes
- 50 ml white rum
- 100 ml soda water
Method:
- Muddle the mint leaves, lime wedges, and sugar in a glass until the lime releases its juices and the sugar dissolves.
- Fill the glass with ice and pour over the rum.
- Top with soda water and stir well.
- Garnish with a sprig of mint and a lime wedge.
3. Smokey Whisky Sunset
For those chilly nights we sometimes experience at our Berwick upon Tweed campsites (because unfortunately the UK sunshine is intermittent!), this smokey whisky cocktail will keep you warm and toasty.
Ingredients:
- 50 ml Smokey Scotch Whisky
- 25 ml Fresh Orange Juice
- A dash of Angostura Bitters
- Ice Cubes
- Orange Peel, for garnish
Method:
- In a mixing glass, combine whisky, orange juice, and Angostura bitters with ice.
- Stir until well chilled.
- Strain into a chilled glass.
- Twist a piece of orange peel over the drink to release its oils, then drop it in as garnish.
4. Starlight Strawberry Collins
This delightful drink is perfect for enjoying under the stars at your cosy, five-star holiday home.
Ingredients:
- 50 ml Gin
- 25 ml Lemon Juice
- 25 ml Strawberry Syrup
- Soda Water
- Fresh Strawberries
- Ice Cubes
Method:
- In a shaker, mix gin, lemon juice, and strawberry syrup with ice.
- Shake well and strain into a tall glass filled with ice.
- Top with soda water.
- Garnish with fresh strawberries.
5. Riverside Rum Punch
A group favourite, this rum punch is easy to make in bulk for family and friends!
Ingredients:
- 100 ml Dark Rum
- 50 ml Coconut Rum
- 200 ml Pineapple Juice
- 100 ml Orange Juice
- A dash of Grenadine
- Pineapple and orange slices, for garnish
Method:
- In a large pitcher, mix both rums, pineapple juice, and orange juice.
- Add a dash of grenadine for color and stir.
- Serve over ice in glasses.
- Garnish with pineapple and orange slices.
6. Countryside Cucumber Cooler
After a day exploring the countryside, cool off with this incredibly refreshing cucumber cocktail.
Ingredients:
- 50 ml Vodka
- 20 ml Lime Juice
- 10 ml Sugar Syrup
- Soda Water
- Fresh Cucumber Slices
- Ice Cubes
Method:
- Muddle a few cucumber slices in the bottom of a shaker.
- Add vodka, lime juice, sugar syrup, and ice. Shake well.
- Strain into a chilled highball glass filled with fresh ice.
- Top with soda water.
- Garnish with a wheel of cucumber.
