The UK Government has introduced stronger measures to the North East to tackle rising infection rates.
What does this mean for our Holiday Home owners?
Parts of the North East have been escalated to an area of intervention. These new restrictions will effect Ord House Country Park, The Kaims Country Park and Forget Me Not Country Park and come into force on Friday 18th September.
From Friday, regulations will ban the following:
- owners must not socialise with other people outside of their own households or support bubble in caravans and on deckings.
- hospitality for food and drink will be restricted to table service only
- late night restriction of operating hours will be introduced, with leisure and entertainment venues required to close at 10pm.
Owners are also advised to adhere to the following guidance to further reduce rates of infection:
- not to socialise with other people outside of their own households in all public venues.
- only to use public transport for essential purposes.
- take holidays only within your own household or support bubble
Changes come as cases in the North East have risen to the second highest in the country, after the North West. This decision has been made in close collaboration with local leaders.
These changes are in addition to the nationwide 6-person limit on social gatherings that came into force on Monday. This rule is in place across the country and will sit alongside additional restrictions in some local areas.
Public Health England, the JBC and NHS Test and Trace are constantly monitoring the levels of infection and other data on prevalence of the virus across the country. As has always been the case, measures are kept under constant review to reduce the spread of the virus and save lives.
Maguires Country Parks will continue to operate within our ‘Safe and Secure Pledge’. Along with extra cleaning measures and social distancing guidelines in place, we hope it provides the reassurance you need throughout all areas of our parks.
Our pledge is set out below, along with what we will be asking of our owners and holidaymakers. We are confident that you will be happy with the changes we have made and look forward to seeing you all again.
*Please note as the law evolves and hopefully the pandemic is brought under control, this advice will be reviewed and updated.
Arriving at the park
Our number one priority is keeping everyone safe. Please do not travel to the park if you, or anyone in your household, have COVID-19 symptoms.
Before arriving at the park, we will ask everyone to contact the office via email to inform them of your arrival and departure dates, we will also need the names and contact details of everyone in your group. We need to keep a record of who is at the park. We ask that your holiday home is only used by members of one household.
If you are a touring holiday maker, please head to reception and we will give you directions to your pitch and all necessary information.
Essential shopping items owners may wish to bring are soap, hand gel, gloves, toilet roll, disinfectant, hand sanitiser. If owners bring their own supplies of food and drink this may reduce reliance and congestion in local shops
Out and about on the park
Social distance to be maintained at all times from other owners
Social distance to be maintained at all times from park team members
One-way systems may operate in some areas of the park to ensure social distancing can be complied with on narrow paths, please look out for signage.
We have introduced new hand sanitiser stations around our parks to help guests maintain good hand hygiene and signage to help guests find the nearest hand washing facilities.
The offices will be staffed although we are encouraging everyone to only contact the team by telephone or email. If you cannot get through straight away, leave a message and someone will get back to you as soon as they can.
If you do want to speak to us face to face you can make an appointment via telephone.
All gas bottle orders, and electric top ups can only be made over the phone.
All payments can be made over the phone.
Card payments only, we will no longer be accepting cash in our offices
If you need to visit the office there will be clear signage to help maintain social distancing.
Your holiday home
We are so happy to have you back and we want you to relax and enjoy your holiday home. All we are asking of our owners is to use common sense and adhere to the government guidelines regarding social distancing.
Maintain 2m social distancing whenever you can, this lowers to 1m when 2m is unavoidable
We know you are a sociable group, however until the risk level changes we will be enforcing the one household per caravan rule.
Cooking is often the last thing on your mind while you are at your holiday home however third-party food deliveries will need to be collected outside the park at the moment.
A couple of practical points for your holiday home:
- Make sure you flush through water systems to clear out stagnant water, especially shower heads which should be held away from the face to avoid inhaling spray.
- All bin points will remain in use, please adhere to social distancing guidelines, and follow government hand washing advice
If you have any concerns at all while you at your holiday home, please do not hesitate to contact the park office and your park manager will be on hand to help you.
Cleaning and shared facilities
Keeping our beautiful parks clean is vital. Our cleaning teams will be focused on keeping all public areas clean on the park. They will focus on areas which are frequently touched such as door handles, shower and bathroom fittings, handrails, and counter tops.
Our award-winning shower blocks and toilets will be open although social distancing guidelines must be adhered to. Look out for the clear signage in these areas.
Areas will be cleaned using disinfectants proven to be effective against pathogens similar to Coronavirus. All our staff will have PPE such as facemasks, aprons, and gloves available to them.
Play parks and children
Family is at the heart of our business, and we welcome the return of yours to the park. For the time being we are asking that children must stay on decking’s and must not play in public areas, and for obvious reasons we request that children are supervised at ALL times. (Children are permitted to play on the grass directly next to your decking)
Playparks will be open, and they will be routinely cleaned throughout the day but we ask that children do not play unsupervised and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
Bar & Grill (where applicable)
Keeping the bar and grills open is not without its challenges. We are required to collect customer details before they enter the bar and we need to insist that you enter only with members of your own household and party sizes stay below 6. As much as we would like to push the tables together and make an exception, we just cannot so please do not ask us.
Upon arrival you will be directed to your table and instructions will be given regarding our new stay safe procedures. Our tables have been arranged with social distancing in mind and we will be offering table service, this means we will not be offering service at the bar and there will be no seating or standing at the bar. You can sit back, relax, and let us look after you. If you need to move around the restaurant there will be a one-way system in place, look out for the signage. Unfortunately, we are not permitted to open our soft play areas just yet and there will be no entertainment.
We will not be accepting cash payments at this time and we are encouraging everyone to use a contactless method of payment, although chip and pin payments are still accepted.
The toilets inside the Bar & Grill remain open as usual. Our cleaning team will be doing regular checks and cleaning throughout the day, paying special attention to those areas which are frequently touched. We will be strongly promoting frequent handwashing for all our staff and customers.
Swimming Pool (where applicable)
Our Swimming pool will remain closed until further notice.
We pledge to follow the guidelines given to us as closely as we can. If you see something that you do not think is quite right, please let us know and we will strive to fix it.
We want to welcome you all back as well as helping to control the spread of the virus. We are acutely aware that should the virus start to spread again that then we may be forced to take a step backwards and we can all agree that no one wants that. We believe that the common sense of our customers teamed with our new pledge and guidance will ensure that your Maguires Country Park remains the idyllic country retreat that you are used to enjoying.
